Official: Iran's Exporters Eyeing Russian Markets

"To attain the goal, the Iranian exporters should closely watch and examine Russian market to ease exports of their products to that country," Khosrotaj said, addressing in a meeting with representatives from the state-run and private sectors.
During the meeting, Khosrotaj and the Iranian businessmen also examined various scenarios such as clinching the deal on preferential tariffs with Eurasia comprising Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Armenia, reducing tariffs as well as preparing the grounds for free trade with these countries.
In relevant development in late July, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanayee and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov underlined the need for increasing the volume of trade exchanges between Tehran and Moscow.
During the meeting in the Russian capital at the time, Sanayee and Morgulov explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating mutual cooperation between Iran and Russia.
The two sides also discussed a diverse range of other issues, including implementation of agreements reached between Tehran and Moscow during the visit of President Hassan Rouhani to Russia in late March.
Morgulov voiced his satisfaction with the development of all-out relations between Iran and Russia, and called for the implementation of the letters of the agreements and definition of new economic projects to broaden and deepen the bilateral ties more than before.
Sanayee, for his part, pointed to the exchange of high-ranking delegations between the two countries in the course of the past months, and said that the heads of states of the two countries are determined to develop relations in all areas.
He also referred to a statistical growth in bilateral economy and trade ties between Iran and Russia, and expressed the hope to see a noticeable rise in the volume of trade between the two countries till the end of the current year with orders of the heads of states put into practice.
